Back in Australia!

I'm baaaacccckkkkk! :) Actually, I have been back for a while, we arrived on Tuesday morning but I have been so sick, I haven't had the energy to blog and post an update. Unfortunately, I am still sick but I'm feeling a little bit better than I have been this whole week. It's nothing serious, just a cold because of a viral infection, - which unfortunately the doctors can't do anything about (I've been told to ride it out) - but with the most dreadful cough; it's hard to sleep when I feel like I'm coughing my lungs out every 5 minutes. I'm hoping that I get well soon, it's the coughing that drives me crazy and drains all my energy.

Anyways, as for the trip itself, that was good. Thankfully, I really only became sick the last day before flying home so it didn't affect my entire holiday. It was really great to be home, especially during Chinese New Year, with the whole family gathering together. I spent lots of time with my family so that was good. I was also VERY well-fed while I was there, hahaha, there were tons of pigging out sessions! So not good, but OH SO VERY GOOD, if you get what I mean! *grin* My grandfather is still weak, but slowly getting better, which is excellent. My grandmother started her radiation and chemo sessions after I left and she's doing okay so far, which is also excellent. The doctors have faith that all should go well so we're taking it one step at a time and hoping for the best. Because time was so short, I couldn't meet up with all of my friends, but I had a fantastic time with those I managed to catch up with, and I hope I see them again soon, either in Melbourne or in Singapore or some other part of the world!

However, the biggest news of all is.......I'M ENGAGED! :) Terrence "proposed" at the playground downstairs from my family's place the night before we left for Melbourne. It was totally unexpected and it was very much a surprise. I mean, I know we were going to get married eventually, but I certainly didn't expect the proposal then. So a bit of background, I actually knew about the ring, because we had gone diamond shopping just before Christmas last year. However, the main reason for doing so was because Terrence wanted to ask my father for his blessing and he wanted to have a ring to show so that it looked more convincing. Well, maybe convincing is not the right word, but you know, just to give the whole asking thing a bit more weight. So I had picked out the diamond and had chosen a band setting, but I wasn't allowed to see the finished product and I was certainly given the impression that I wouldn't be getting the ring anytime soon, which was fine by me. In fact it was Terrence who initiated the whole getting-a-ring thing so that he could show my dad while we were in Singapore. So anyways, as I was saying, I was very stunned and I think my brain wasn't working very well at that particular moment. And I say "proposed", because he didn't ask the traditional "Will you marry me?" but rather something along the lines of, "I know you won't say no, so I'm giving you this ring as a symbol of my love and for us to spend the rest of our lives together." Something like that anyway, as I said, my brain wasn't working very well, so I can't remember the exact words, hee hee. So but yes, to cut a long rambling story short, I'm engaged, and here's the 'symbol of love' on my fat fingers, muahahahaha.... *grin*

Well, that's pretty much all the exciting news from me - getting engaged, getting home and getting sick, LOL. I'm off to take more cough medicine (it tastes like candy!) and hopefully this nasty cold will soon be on its way. Glad to be back in blogland and I'll come around and visit as soon as I can! :)

CONGRATULATIONS!!!! I wish you the best!
